Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

You can browse club schedules, scores, and standings as a guest without creating an account. If you create an account, or if your club adds you to a team, we collect the following information:

• Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and a display name. Your password is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store it in our database. We also record when you last signed in and from which platform (Android, iOS, or web).
• Team and League Information: Club administrators enter or import team rosters, which include each player’s name, email address, and position (for example, skip or lead), along with league schedules, game results, and standings. If you register with the same email address that appears on a roster, your account is linked to that team so the App can show your games.
• Shot Statistics: Clubs that track statistics may record shot-by-shot data during games, such as shot type, rotation, and a rating, attributed to the player by name and email address. When you register, existing statistics recorded under your email address are linked to your account.
• Notification Information: If you enable push notifications, we store a device notification token, your device platform, and your reminder preferences (for example, which reminder times you chose) so we can send you game reminders and schedule-change alerts.
• App Preferences: Your selected club, season, and league, and display options, are saved to your account and on your device so the App opens where you left off.
• Club Roles: If you help run a club, we store the roles you have been given (such as club administrator, scorer, or statistics recorder) to control what you can edit.

The App does not access your location, contacts, camera, or photos, does not display advertisements, and does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data strictly to:

• Create and maintain your account and link it to your teams.
• Display league and bonspiel schedules, scores, standings, rosters, and statistics.
• Send game reminders and notify you when a game’s time, location, or opponent changes.
• Let club administrators manage their club, teams, and volunteer roles.
• Ensure the security and proper technical functioning of the App backend.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. What Other People Can See

Curling results are shared with the club community. League information, including team names, player names and positions, schedules, scores, standings, and shot statistics, is visible to anyone who uses the App, including guests.

Your email address is used by your club to build rosters and to link your account. It is visible to club administrators and other volunteers who manage your club’s teams in the App or the administration website.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We use Google Firebase for authentication, cloud data storage, backend functions, web hosting, and push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging, which delivers to Apple Push Notification service on iOS). Account-verification emails, such as account deletion codes, are sent through an email delivery service. These providers only process your information to provide services on our behalf. Firebase's privacy information also applies.

5. Data Security

The security of your data is important to us. All communication between the App and our backend servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/TLS), and editing access is restricted by club role. While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Children

The App is intended for use by curling club members and is not directed at children under 13. Club administrators who add junior players to a roster are responsible for obtaining any consent required by their club or local law. If you believe a child’s information has been added without consent, contact us and we will remove it.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

In-App Deletion: Tap your account menu → Delete Account, then confirm your password.

Web-Based Deletion: If you no longer have the App installed, you can submit a request online at: https://axis6.ca/curlingapp/delete-account . We will email a verification code to your account address to confirm the request.

Deleting your account removes your sign-in, profile, preferences, notification tokens, and club roles from our servers.

Team rosters, game results, and shot statistics belong to your club’s league records and are not removed automatically. To have your name, email address, or statistics removed from those records, contact your club administrator or email us at the address below. We keep a minimal record of each deletion request (email address, date, and reason, if given) for 12 months to confirm that it was completed.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top.
